the award money is justifiable

The Olympic Games are renowned sporting competitions where top athletes compete for the eye dazzling gold medal. Another less widely known competition is the South East Asian (SEA) Games that is held only in South East Asian countries. Although requiring the same level of competency for the athletes, the Olympic Games are held once in four years while the SEA Games are held annually. this results in the drastic difference in prize money for the two games. Since the Olympic Games are held at such long intervals, competitors will have to train a much longer time and have much more physically challenging trainings to have a shot at the Olympics because they know that their competitors also have a longer time to train. this is not the case for the SEA games where many young athletes new to the game try out their talents. This results in a much larger mental strain on the athletes in the Olympics compared to the SEA Games and it is reflected on the prize money. Thus it is not a surprise that competitions such as the SEA games have a larger prize money.
